Biography

Bill Bewick comes to Athabasca University with a B.A. (Honours) and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Alberta. His Master's thesis was on Jean-Jacques Rousseau's presentation of natural religion in Emile. In 2010, Bill completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at Michigan State University where his major concentrations were in Political Philosophy and American Politics. His dissertation analyzed Rousseau's romanticization of marriage and family values.

While pursuing his Ph.D., Bill taught an Introduction to Political Philosophy course four times, and has tutored the equivalent PLS 355 and 357 at AU. In addition to presenting papers on Rousseau, he has also done a conference presentation on Shakespeare's Henry V.
